Gustavo grew up as the oldest of seven siblings in Manila, Philippines, in a home shaped by the curiosity and creativity of his journalist parents. Music was woven into his earliest memories, especially the moments spent with his father listening to classic crooners like Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. Those songs became the soundtrack of his childhood and the spark that ignited his lifelong love for singing.

When his family later moved to Bangkok, Thailand, Gustavo deepened that passion—teaching himself acoustic guitar, studying the phrasing of his favorite vocalists, and discovering his own voice through duets with his father. As the eldest, he eventually became the first in his family to immigrate to the United States, where he pursued a career in engineering. His success allowed him to sponsor his parents and most of his siblings, helping them build a new life in the country he had come to see as a land of opportunity.

Even as engineering and leadership shaped his professional path, music remained the constant thread in his life. Singing tenor in his church choir rekindled the joy he felt as a child, and over time, that joy grew into songwriting—capturing stories of family, resilience, and community.

Now settled in the Houston area, Gustavo has found a place that feels like home, with warm seasons, warm people, and endless inspiration. His original songs reflect the heart of his journey: a life shaped by family, faith, and the timeless music that first connected him to his father.
